Additional DGP KK Rao said Sachin, a resident of Jhajjar district, was arrested in Delhi.
Rao mentioned that when the body was found, eight teams, including a Special Investigation Team (SIT), were formed to trace the accused. The investigation moved swiftly after the family identified the victim.
For the past year and a half, the accused had been in contact with Himani via social media and had visited her home. Police revealed that on February 27, Sachin visited her, and they argued over money.
He was produced in a Rohtak court on Monday and was sent to a three-day police remand.
After her body was handed over to the family, Himani’s last rites were held on Monday evening. She was pursuing a law degree, according to a Congress leader.
